Park Commons Residents Plant Seeds for Success with Local Community Garden
April 27th, 2017

Senior residents living in the Park Commons Apartment Complex residents, volunteers and the surrounding neighborhood celebrated the groundbreaking of the Park Commons Apartment Community Garden at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, April 22nd at 10am. The garden will benefit formerly homeless and elderly Atlanta citizens who have taken on the responsibility of raising their grandchildren.

HOPE Atlanta Improves Street Outreach Program
March 28th, 2017

HOPE Atlanta, a nonprofit agency working to end homelessness in the metro Atlanta area, recently purchased two new vans. The new vehicles will serve to improve the agency’s Street Outreach program in their effort to reach unsheltered homeless who are living under overpasses, in encampments and other hard-to-reach areas.

HOPE Atlanta Helps Identify and Relocate Families Out of Uninhabitable Creekside Forest Apartments
January 31st, 2017

HOPE Atlanta and a team of partners discovered 54 households, including 90 children and 84 adults, living in squalor at Creekside Forest Apartments. In August of 2016, Creekside’s numerous health code violations including water leaks, rodents, bed bugs and trash littering, came to light when local CBS affiliate aired a news story about the unhealthy living conditions the tenants were living in.

HOPE Atlanta to Participate in Full Balance of State Yearly Point-in-Time Count
January 20th, 2017

HOPE Atlanta, a 116-year old nonprofit focused on ending homelessness in the metro Atlanta area, is scheduled to participate in Atlanta Continuum of Care’s Point-in-Time (PIT) Homeless Count from January 23rd, January 25th and January 26th. The organization will participate in PIT counts for three separate areas: City of Atlanta, DeKalb County and Cobb County. The yearly activity provides valuable insight into the metro Atlanta homeless population.

Mayor Kasim Reed Recognizes Anna Foote with the City of Atlanta Phoenix Award
December 14th, 2016

At the December Board of Directors meeting for Invest Atlanta, Anna Foote, deputy director of administration at HOPE Atlanta, received the Phoenix Award from Mayor Kasim Reed. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the City of Atlanta through community service.

HOPE Atlanta to Participate in Pabst Blue Ribbon’s 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Burrito Armageddon Triathlon
November 18, 2016

Over 100 people are expected to attend the 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Burrito Armageddon Triathlon that will be held on Sunday, November 20th in Atlanta’s Edgewood and Little 5 Point districts. The event is sponsored by well-known beer company, Pabst Blue Ribbon. Newmerica, a video agency of creative content producers with an unconventional twist, is organizing the triathlon.

Record-Breaking Donations Raised at 3rd Annual Heroes for Hope Awards
November 5th, 2016
As a result of pre-event donations from sponsors as well as texted donations during the event, HOPE Atlanta was able to raise almost $400,000, making the fundraiser the most successful event in the organization’s history.

HOPE Atlanta to Honor the Atlanta Real Estate Collaborative at 3rd Annual Heroes for Hope Awards Dinner
October 25th, 2016

HOPE Atlanta will host its third annual Heroes for HOPE Awards dinner on Thursday, November 3rd at 6:00 pm at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, to recognize its partnership with the Atlanta Real Estate Collaborative (AREC) which has made significant contributions in support of ending homelessness in metro Atlanta.
